This was a wild banana, a Heliconia family, (Musa Acuminata) that grew wildly in Aishah’s garden. A storm brought it down when I was there and I was truly happy to find an object to paint for the exhibition of the Society of Botanical Artist in London, in May 2016. I was fortunate to have 2 of my paintings selected for the exhibition! The other flower, Bunga Kantan was sold after the exhibition.
